Vercel's October 30 changelog says Daemons now support configurable HTTP liveness checks. The daemon exposes an endpoint that returns an error status when it is no longer healthy.

How the check behaves

  • The daemon configuration points to the health endpoint.
  • Vercel requests it periodically and restarts the container when the check fails.
  • The endpoint should remain lightweight and return promptly.

A liveness check is for detecting a process that is still running but cannot function correctly. Its endpoint should measure the daemon's own ability to operate, not fail because a transient dependency is slow unless that dependency truly makes the process unrecoverable.

See the Daemons documentation for default values and optional tuning fields before configuring the probe.
