Vercel introduced Geist Serif on October 30 as a high-contrast display face for headlines, posters, and large text. It is designed to work alongside Geist Sans and the existing Geist Mono and Pixel families.
What ships in the first release
- The release includes one Regular weight and four dot-shape variants: Regular, Square, Triangle, and Heart.
- The font contains 894 glyphs and five stylistic sets.
- Vercel says the first release is display-focused; additional weights, italics, and broader family work are still in progress.
The announcement describes shared cap height and x-height across Geist Sans and Geist Serif, making it easier to combine the families in one layout.
For production pages, load only the styles you use and test headline wrapping and contrast at the sizes where a display face is intended to appear.
