Browsers and password managers can fill common fields when the markup identifies the expected information. autocomplete tokens are semantic hints, not placeholder text.

- Use name, email, tel, street-address, and postal-code for their corresponding values.
- Use current-password and new-password to distinguish sign-in from account creation.
- Keep a visible label and a stable name attribute; autocomplete does not replace either one.
Do not fight the browser
Avoid disabling autofill for ordinary contact and sign-in forms. Test with keyboard navigation and a password manager, and check that each suggested value lands in the correct field.
Clear form semantics reduce typing and errors for visitors. They also make automated tools better able to understand the page, without turning a form into search-engine bait.
