A page that exists in a sitemap can be discovered there, but contextual links also show how it fits into the site. Link from relevant guides, category pages, and recent articles using an ordinary anchor element.

Learn how internal links improve page discovery
</a>Choose links for the reader
- Use link text that describes the destination; avoid a page full of identical “read more” links.
- Link only where the destination adds useful context, and keep the number of links proportionate to the article.
- Make sure the URL resolves, uses the preferred canonical path, and does not require a click handler to navigate.
Connect new pages thoughtfully
Add a new article to its topic index and link to it from one or two relevant existing pages when that connection helps readers. Related-article lists are useful when their titles are meaningful and their links work without JavaScript.
Internal links support navigation and discovery; they do not guarantee indexing or improve a page simply by being numerous. Clear structure and genuinely helpful content matter more than link counts.
