Review comments can feel personal when they arrive on work you have invested in. Keep the discussion focused on the code and the outcome: first understand the concern, then decide what change or explanation resolves it.

Work through comments deliberately

  1. Restate the issue in your own words and ask a question if the scenario is unclear.
  2. Make the change, add a test, or provide the missing context.
  3. Reply with what changed and where the reviewer can verify it.

Disagree with evidence

If you believe a suggestion creates a different problem, explain the tradeoff and propose an alternative. Invite a short conversation when a long comment thread is no longer clarifying the decision.

Do not treat every suggestion as mandatory or every correction as criticism. A shared definition of done and a respectful review process make the work better for everyone.
