A useful resume is a clear summary of relevant evidence, not a copy of every task you have ever done. Start with the role requirements and choose examples that show you have handled similar problems.

Make the match visible

  • Identify the core responsibilities and required tools in the posting.
  • Move your strongest related experience higher, and use familiar names for technologies you have actually used.
  • Remove details that do not help explain your fit for this particular role.

Keep claims honest and specific

Do not add a technology to a skills list because it appeared in the job ad. Explain your level through a project or work example, and distinguish professional use from coursework or personal practice.

Save a clean base resume, then make a tailored copy for each role. Read the final document as a hiring manager would: can they quickly see what you did, how you did it, and why it relates to the job?
